Although the coaches held some athletes out of the meet to rest for next week's subsectional and the other athletes were not competing in their regular events, the CCHS track teams found it hard to score points in a five-way meet against Bradley Central, McMinn County, Rhea County and Brainerd Tuesday at Bradley Central.

The Lady Jets finished ahead of Brainerd, while the Jets were ahead of McMinn County. Both teams finished fourth.

Finishing second place for the Lady Jets were Grace Andersen (1600) and the 4x400 relay team (Lauren Elmore, Allison Gentry, Julie Kirkham and Grace Andersen).

Thirds went to Elmore in the shot pot, Kirkham (high jump), Allison Authier (100 meter hurdles), the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams (Gentry, Randell Todd, Authier and Shana Meaux), and the 4x800 team (Stephanie Moerdyke, Kristin Hall, Jigna Patel and Corrie Dyer).

Taking fourth place were Elmore (discus), Todd (100 hurdles) and Gentry (100). In fifth were Kirkham (long jump) and Courtney Koehl (3200).

Winning the 1600 for the Jets was Zach Stewart with a time of 4:45.9. This is the CCHS senior class record and the second best time in school history, only behind Micah Barnwell's record of 4:35.2.

Also winning their race was the 4x400 team (Aaron Andersen, Stewart, Bryant Davis and E.J. Williams).

In third were Joseph DeLorenzo (800), Michael Campbell (200) and the 4x800 relay team team (Aaron Andersen, Davis, Cody Keck and Evan Sells).

Rusty Arwood was fourth in the discus with a personal record throw of 108'11.5", which is a CCHS sophomore class record. In fifth were Aaron Andersen (high jump), Trystan Henry (discus) and Arwood (shot put).

On Monday, May 8, and Wednesday, May 10, the Jets and Lady Jets will be competing in the subsectional at Bradley Central.
