Members of the 2008 SMHS Lady Panther volleyball team include Josie Ayers, Allie Blair, Chelby Brady, Heather Brady, Alli Brewer, Leslie Brown, Destiny Dishman, Brittany Eller, Casey Garrett, Abbie Iriate, Cammie Keck, Kelli Keck, Lori Keck, Mary K. Krueger, Ashley Sebastian, Ashley True, Megan Zientara and Coach Meghan Kunzelman.

The Stone Memorial High School Lady Panther volleyball team was rewarded for an outstanding 2008 season with a banquet on Sunday, Nov. 16, at Ichiban Japanese Steak House.

SMHS finished with an overall record of 46-7, including the White County Tournament championship, the Rocky Top Classic championship, the Junior Varsity District title, the District 4AA championship, the Region 2AA championship, the sectional championship and the state final four.

Mary K. Krueger was Region Tournament MVP and District Tournament MVP.

Earning All-Region Honors were Brittany Eller and Kelli Keck, while Eller, Alli Brewer, Keck and Chelbi Brady were All-District Tournament. Krueger and Eller were All-District first team, Brady and Keck were second team All-District, and Leslie Brown and Brewer were honorable mention All-District.

Coach Meghan Kunzelman was District Coach of the Year.

The Lady Panther seniors — Destiny Dishman, Brady, Brewer, Cammie Keck and Krueger — were recognized for their contributions this season.

Here were the new school records — most wins (47); most assists in a season, Kelli Keck (1,247); most aces in a season, Leslie Brown (118); most blocks in a season, Brittany Eller (497); most digs in a season, Brittany Eller (497); most assists in a match, Kelli Keck (52); most kills in a match, Brittany Eller (22); most aces in a match, Leslie Brown (8); most blocks in a match, Mary K. Krueger (10); and most digs in a match, Kelli Keck (25).
