The Cumberland County High School Lady Jets golf team improved their record to 3-0 by beating Kingston and Rockwood on Monday at Lakeside Golf Club.

"We played the modified Stableford system in this match with birdies counting four points, par three points, bogey two points and double bogey one point. We have started off strong, but our real test will come at the Cookeville Invitational Tournament on Monday, Aug. 13. I expect there to be 10-15 other teams with some of the best girls in our area," Coach Kim Herring said.

The Lady Jets defeated Kingston 29-27, with Stormi Henley collecting 18 points, while Jessica Barnwell had 11 points. Jamie Pierce had 21 points for the Lady Jackets, with Holli Langley adding six.

CCHS defeated Rockwood 29-16. Karissa King had 14 points for the Lady Tigers.

Correction: The Jets scored 398 points in their loss to Rhea County last week. The individual scores were Cody King (85), Sean Burk (96), Chad Crawford (103) and Patric Allred (114). The scores published were the nine-hole totals.
