The Walker Valley Mustangs used a nine-run third inning to take an 11-1 victory over the CCHS Jets in the District 5AAA Baseball Tournament Monday night in Evensville.

The second-seeded Mustangs trailed 1-0, when they sent 13 hitters to bat to score nine times on singles by Chris Reed, Ryan Douglas, Chad Fromm, Adam Hunsucker, Ryan Frazier, Zack Driggers, an error, two fielder's choices and a double by Fromm.

Walker Valley scored two more times in the fourth on singles by Tanner Shamblin, Chris Kugler, Driggers and Douglas and a walk.

Cumberland County took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on two walks and a RBI single by Dalton Bell off Mustang starter Derick Evanyk.

Evanyk retired the last seven batters, before Fromm came on in the fourth inning.

Fromm gave up singles to Bell and Jon Doran in the fourth inning, and loaded the bases in the fifth with two outs on singles by Jordan Witt and John Bradley and a walk to bell.

Doran, Justin Patton and Witt hurled for the Jets, allowing 11 runs on 12 hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

This was the final game for seniors Dalton Bell, John Bradley, Luke Myers, Ray Kiley, Jordan Witt and Zach Qualls.

The Jets finished 3-7 in the District 5AAA regular season and 1-2 in the district tournament.
