The Cumberland County High School wrestling team will host Kingston and SMHS Thursday evening in the Jet wrestling complex beginning at 5:30 p.m, after posting wins over Anderson County and Clinton on the road last Thursday night.

Coach Wes McNeeley's squadron of Jets defeated Anderson Countty 42-36 in the first match and Clinton 58-24 in the second match. CCHS didn't make the trip to McGavock Saturday due to illness and injuries.

The most impressive win of Thursday night was from Kendall Payne won by pin in his Clinton High School match.

"Kendall has had some setbacks with his wrestling and all of his hard work and corrections that he has been making came out in the form of a win by pin in a decisive way. It was his night after that," said McNeely.

CCHS will grapple in the Charger Invitational at Chattanooga Christian School this Saturday. Then, they take Christmas off before going in two directions Dec. 28. The boys will wrestle in the Alcoa Duals, while the girls go to Independence High School for a tournament.
