The second Signsmith Shootout on Saturday and Sunday, July 8-9, is filling up quickly.

"It was huge success last year, and everyone is beating down the door to enter this year. We are going to take the first 36 paid teams, with the others going on a waiting list," said Stuart Smith Monday morning.

Saturday's round is at Deer Creek, with play moving to Lake Tansi on Sunday. There is a 1 p.m. shotgun start both days.

This is a four-person scramble, with the highest individual handicap used a 1. Anyone can play. There will be a handicap committee.

The entry fee is $500 per team or $125 per person. The entry deadline is Friday, June 30.

First-flight prizes are $3,000 for first place; $1,500 for second, $750 for third and $500 for fourth, while the second-flight prizes are $2,000 for first, $1,000 for second, $500 for third and $250 for fourth. These are gift certificates to maintain amateur status.

These are based on a full 36-team field.

There are $250 gift certificates for closest to the hole on all par 3s. There will be a dogfight on Saturday, with two flights after first day's play.

A 10 percent rule applies.

The tournament will playing eightsomes.
