The 2007 Elementary Football Jamboree will kick off Cumberland County's football season on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. at Stone Memorial High School.

Pleasant Hill plays Crab Orchard in the opening quarter, followed at 6:30 p.m. Brown vs. North, 7:30 p.m. by Stone vs. Martin and 8 p.m. by South vs. Homestead.

The halftime competition at 7 p.m. will be competitions for fastest back (40-yard dash), fastest lineman (40-yard dash), longest punt and longest pass.

•Each team plays one 20-minute quarter.

•Clock doesn't stop until last two minutes of quarter.

•There are two timeouts per team.

•If a team chooses to punt, ball will be moved 25 yards.

•First game teams can warm up on the game field. Others use the practice field.

Admission will be $2 for students and $4 for adults.

The concession stand will be open.


Cumberland County hosts Stone Memorial in the season opener on Friday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.

The regular season for county elementary teams opens Thursday, Aug. 16 with four games — North at Pleasant Hill, Stone at Brown, Homestead at Martin and Crab Orchard at South, and concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 2 with the championship at 6 p.m. at SMHS.
