Mastersingers, the Upper Cumberland’s premier community chorus, is preparing for a new kind of event and benefit. “We have always wanted to have an opportunity to get to know our audience in a more personal setting, and we felt this was the right time to try something different,” said Mastersingers Fundraising Chair Heather Koslin. “We wanted a benefit for Mastersingers in a venue that would showcase our many talents in a fun and festive atmosphere — and that’s where the Meisterfest came from.”

Members of the Mastersingers Meisterfest committee gathered at Crawdaddy’s in Cookeville to plan their October event.

“We are planning our event for Friday, Oct. 26. The Oktober Meisterfest will feature some solo performances, great food and drink, and a silent auction of some wonderful items,” said Kristin Wells, Mastersingers VP and publicity chair. “We already have donations of a one night stay at a cabin, a houseboat cruise and a luxury sky box for a Titans game.”

Mastersinger rehearse Mondays at 7 p.m. in room 101 (the band room) of Bryan Fine Arts Building at TTU. The Mastersingers Oktober Meisterfest will be Friday, Oct. 26. For ticket and other information please call Heather Koslin at (931) 520-7457 or Kristin Wells at (931) 526-6724.
