Three persons were hurt in accidents involving all-terrain vehicles over the holiday weekend, but none of the injured suffered life-threatening injuries.

The first accident occurred Saturday around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Indian Rock Loop when two four-wheelers collided head-on, sending two youngsters to Cumberland Medical Center's emergency room, according to Deputy Nick Neal's report.

Deputies were notified of the accident when the pair showed up at the ER after having been transported by private vehicle to the hospital. James Graham told Deputy Nick Neal that he found his brother, Anthony Graham, 12, Woodstock, GA, and Casey Lightsey, 11, Cumberland Lane, injured and dazed after the accident.

Graham was treated for a bloodied nose and a head injury and Lightsey was treated for injuries to his cheek and head, according to the report.

Sunday a Georgia woman was rushed to CMC by ambulance after crashing the ATV she was driving head-on into a tree, according to Deputy Kevin Davis' report.

Davis reported that Portia Codjoe, 37, Chamblee, GA, was traveling on private property off Vandever Rd. when she struck a hole, causing the ATV to travel out of control and strike the tree head-on.

The extent of her injuries were not known.
