Cumberland County sheriff's deputies and investigators dispatched to a rural residence after receiving a report of suspicious activity in the area arrested two county men on a meth related charge.
Gregory Allen Thomas, 46, 20 John Myers Rd., and Michael Shane Underwood, 24, 243 Retreat Dr., are charged with promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine following his arrest last Wednesday. Bond was set at $10,000 and he is to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court July 18.
Deputies traveled to the 200 block of Retreat Dr. after receiving a report that there might be drug activity at a residence and found two men sitting in a maroon Ford Explorer.
When officers approached, Cpl. Kevin Phillips wrote in his report that he observed coffee filters on a passenger seat that were suddenly shoved between the seats. A mason jar with coffee filters was observed on the floorboard of the vehicle, Phillips wrote in his report.
A consent to search was granted Investigator Jeff Slayton and Deputies David Moore, Danny Stone and Phillips and rubbery tubing, electrical tape, Coleman fuel and an instant cold pack were discovered
The two men were then taken into custody and transported to the Justice Center for booking.
