A suspect in the burglary of a rural church north of Crossville has been indicted by the Cumberland County Grand Jury and was arrested last week in connection with the incident.

Darrell Lynn Tuttle, 27, 697 N. Lowe Rd., March 9 was arrested on an indictment charging burglary and two counts of theft less than $10,000 in connection with the theft of wiring on two occasions from Bethlehem Baptist Church, according to Sheriff's Investigator Casey Cox.

The church was broken into on Jan. 3 during which building material was stolen. The indictment charges that wiring had been stolen from church property prior to the burglary.

These defendants and the people listed below are to appear in Criminal Court for arraignment on March 20.

Pickup indictments

The following defendants were arrested on sealed indictments as a result of evidence presented to the Cumberland County Grand Jury.

•Ronald Lewis Whited, 24, 144 Tabor Loop, March 7 arrested on an indictment charging aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated burglary, theft less than $10,000 and theft less than $500. Investigator Casey Cox.

•Clifton Lee Hubbard, 45, 46 Tresa St., Feb. 6 arrested on four counts each of forgery and passing a forged instrument. Investigator Ben Waller.

•James Edward Clark Jr., 20, no address available, arrested March 13 on an indictment charging statutory rape. Investigator John Haynes.

The following indictments were handed down by the grand jury on cases that had been bound over from General Sessions Court. In nearly all cases, the defendants were allowed to remain on the same bond pending appearance in Criminal Court.
