Skills training

New personnel with the Crossville Fire Department began working toward their basic rope technician certification last week. Firefighter Thomas Smith rappels off the balcony of Crossville City Hall as part of a 40-hour certification course offered through the Tennessee Fire Academy. The city department is able to take advantage of on-staff certified instructors and local facilities to provide ongoing training opportunities for the firefighters, Assistant Chief Chris South told the Chronicle. The next step for the firefighters is the technician program, set for spring 2020.
