Volunteer Energy Cooperative (VEC) will be performing maintenance work that will require a planned power outage beginning at midnight and lasting until 6 a.m., Saturday July 17.
VEC Area Manager Bobby Randolph said, “Due to the extreme danger in working with energized lines, we are allowing a six-hour window for our crews to perform this work.”
He added, “This outage will allow our crews to transfer the power lines to the new poles on the Lantana Road Project.”
The areas that will be affected will begin south of Pigeon Ridge Road, on Lantana and continue into Bledsoe County. The outage will include the areas adjacent to the Lantana Road circuit and include Tansi, Taylor's Chapel Road, the Vandever Road community, the Midway community, Newton Road, Smithtown Road, Flynn’s Cove Road and customers on VEC’s Bledsoe County circuit off of Lantana Road (Hwy 101).
Randolph said he apologizes for any inconvenience the outage may cause.
