No injuries in building fire

Crossville firefighters Wednesday night responded to a fire on Livingston Rd. behind Peerless IGA and found an unused building fully enveloped in flames. Because the metal building was no longer in use, firefighters directed their efforts in keeping the fire from spreading to a nearby mechanics shop and off of power lines. Power was not connected to the building, Capt. and Training Officer Terry Potter said. Firefighters remained on the scene for about three hours. No injuries were reported. The building was described as being the original old bulk plant for an Exxon distributor in Cumberland County and is still owned by heirs of Deloy Brown.
