An expensive industrial utility trailer has been recovered, along with hundreds of dollars worth of tools, and a Niota man has been arrested in connection with the May theft, Crossville Police Det. Gene Hall reported.
Randy Jay Eibel, 27, 145 County Rd. 363, Niota, is charged with theft more than $10,000, according to Hall's report.
He is accused of stealing a 16-foot Betterbilt gooseneck trailer valued at $10,000 from England Striping on Maryetta St., Hall reported. Also taken in the theft was a spare tire and $500 worth of tools.
Eibel allegedly used a 1986 Ford F250 pickup in the crime which was viewed on a security system when the trailer and tools were stolen on May 20. When a vehicle fitting that description was spotted by Hall in the city about a month later, Hall stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver, leading to the recovery and arrests.
THP Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Agent Randy Elmore assisted in the investigation and recovery.
