Health Department appreciation

Nov. 6 was Cumberland County Health Department Appreciation Day following a proclamation by Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster. On hand for the presentation were, from left, front row, Foster, Lindsey Salvato, Nora Hammac, Mindy Doyle and Christy Brawner with the Cumberland County Health Department; and back row, Sgt. Osler, Sgt. Mcklean and Christian Cofer with the Tennessee National Guard, which has assisted with COVID-19 testing at the department. The proclamation notes the challenges health professionals have faced during the 2020 global health pandemic and the assistance provided by law enforcement and the Tennessee National Guard. The Cumberland County Health Department has been recognized regionally and at the state level for its innovation and efforts to serve the community. “Cumberland County is blessed to have a group of such selfless individuals who have, despite their own safety and concerns, provided daily drive-thru COVID-19 testing, free of charge and without appointment, ensuring our community has the utmost protection,” the proclamation states.
