Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity celebrated the blessing of their 67th home, signifying the “drying-in” of the home built in partnership with Tierra Parrent and Habitat volunteers.
The house will become a home for Parrent and her children, 3-year-old Ella and 2-year-old Kasen.
“I’m so thankful for the opportunity that has been given to me to provide a home for my kids,” Parrent said. “I also want to thank the all the volunteers willing to sacrifice their time and talent to help us build this brand-new beginning.
Pastor Terry Swaw of Crab Orchard Church of God of Prophecy performed the blessing, praying “Dear God, may this home be a place of grace, mercy, security, rest and, most of all, a place of love.”
Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity is building three new homes in Cumberland County and needs volunteers to help on-site and in the ReStore.
No experience is necessary to volunteer on the construction site.
