A Crossville man has been arrested on a grand jury indictment and charged with two felony assault counts in connection with a Dec. 22, 2005 incident that allegedly occurred in the parking lot of a Crossville apartment complex.

Dannie Curtis Turner, 20, who at the time of the incident listed a County Garage Rd. address, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Witnesses listed on the indictment include the victim, Michael Buchannon, 26, his wife, Jessica, and Crossville Police Ptl. Jonathan Tollett.

The indictment and the incident report at the time of the assault report that Michael Buchannon was stabbed several times in the back with a large knife in an incident that grew out of a dispute over whom a child visiting the couple would leave with.

At the time Turner's mother was charged with tampering with evidence but that charge has since been dropped.

Turner is to appear in Cumberland County Criminal Court Jan. 26 for arraignment, as are the following listed defendants who were also indicted by the grand jury.
