Genesis Rd. at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency's check station is closed while the Tennessee Highway Patrol's Critical Incident Response Team investigates a serious crash.

The wreck occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Genesis Rd. at Wildlife Lane, about eight miles north of I-40.

The crash involved the driver of a bobtail truck with the driver the only occupant, and a passenger car with a male driver and two nine-year-olds.

One of the children was flown to a regional trauma center from the Rockwood Airport while the second child was flown from Cumberland Medical Center's helipad, officials at the scene said.

No photos or additional information is being released at this time because it is uncertain whether next of kin have been notified of the crash.

Additional information will be published on the Chronicle website once THP completes its preliminary report.
