The Tennessee Department of Transportation is scheduled to award construction bids on the first phase of the Hwy. 127 N. road project in mid-2019. 

About 45 percent of certified personnel in the Cumberland County School System want to see an increase in the county’s average teacher salary, a salary survey found. 

The city is moving forward with a comprehensive wage study for all employees. Regardless of the outcome, City Manager Greg Wood proposes the city increase its starting pay.
