The Arc Special Olympics 2019

The Arc Special Olympics always starts with a parade of athletes. This year’s games, which were held Sept. 15 in the Stone Memorial High School gymnasium, featured 48 adult athletes and 30 children. Bud Weir, who was the oldest athlete in attendance at age 82, has never missed a game in 41 years. This was the second year for Kolt Hedgecoth, the 17-month-old son of Rebecca and Kevin Hedgecoth, who was the youngest athlete there. A total of 228 volunteers signed in to support the athletes and work the games, with more attendees cheering them on from the stands.
