Mastersingers, the Upper Cumberland's premier community chorus, will wrap up their 27th season with a concert featuring American Composers on April 28. The concert will feature patriotic favorites as well as classical pieces created over the years by our fellow Americans.

"We are looking forward to exposing our audience to some wonderful traditional patriotic pieces as well as introducing them to some of our favorite American composers," said Randall Hooper, Mastersingers musical director. "We are excited to give our Upper Cumberland audience a taste of what we will bring to Paris, France next month."

This concert will include music by Paul Fetler, Marvin V. Curtis, Parker and Shaw and, of course, The Star-Spangled Banner.

"Much of this concert will be a cappella — or without musical accompaniment — as we will perform it in France," said Hooper. "We will also feature pieces by Paul Basler performed by the Mastersingers Ensemble."

The Mastersingers Spring Concert will be performed on April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wattenbarger Auditorium at the Bryan Fine Arts Building at TTU. Tickets are available for $5 by contacting Teena King at (931) 526-1179.
