Mastersingers will wrap up their 27th season with a concert featuring American Composers on April 28. The Mastersinger Ensemble concert scheduled for April 8 has been canceled so that pieces from that performance can be included in the concert by the full chorus.

"We are very excited to end our season with some fantastic pieces by American Composers," said Randall Hooper, Mastersingers musical director. "We look forward to taking this exciting and stirring music as we travel abroad to France in May."

Although Mastersingers has been a part of the community for over 25 years, this year they will embark on a new and different musical journey by taking their music overseas.

"We spend much of our time researching, learning and performing music composed in Europe," said Hooper. "Now it's our turn to bring some American works to them. We are excited to share these works with the Upper Cumberland before we travel."

The Mastersingers Spring Concert will be performed on April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wattenbarger Auditorium at the Bryan Fine Arts Building at TTU. Tickets are available for $5 by contacting Teena King at (931) 526-1179.
