Laura Martin-Palmatier of Crossville was honored in a writing contest held in conjunction with the Tennessee Mountain Writers annual conference earlier this month. Contest winners in seven categories were announced and awards presented during the conference banquet.

Martin-Palmatier received honorable mention recognition in the Patricia Boatner Fiction Award category for her entry, "Fence Jumper."

The Tennessee Mountain Writers 22nd Annual Conference is scheduled for March 25-27, 2010, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Oak Ridge. As 2010 conference and contest information becomes available, it will be posted on the TMW Web site, www.tmwi.org. A complete list of 2009 contest winners is also available on the Web site.
