Day Trips for July

On July 8 we will be heading to beautiful Gatlinburg to the SkyLift Park to enjoy the newest attraction, SkyBridge.

According to the SkyLift park website, “The new SkyBridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America and the most spectacular and awe-inspiring experience in the Smokies. From the top of the Gatlinburg SkyLift, the SkyBridge quite literally crosses the sky as it stretches 680 feet across a deep valley. Guests will be able to walk across at their own pace, taking in the views and enjoying the spectacular setting before walking back when they're ready.”

The bridge is 140 feet high at its midpoint. Visitors will enjoy an experience of a lifetime by crossing the glass-floor panels in the middle of the span.

On July 22 we will enjoy a scenic cruise down the Tennessee River on Chattanooga’s Southern Belle. Participants will see many historic sites on this cruise, the Chattanooga Skyline and Lookout Mountain from the beautiful Tennessee River. They will enjoy a 1.5-hour cruise with commentary on river history, legends and places. Lunch will be included.

Community Summer Bash Deadline

This community event will be held at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds, rain or shine. We have indoor and outdoor booth space for rent and are looking for a variety of vendors to set up. Booth space rental will be $25 a day per space or $50 for all three days.

All vendors are welcomed: food, crafts, jewelry, mobile boutiques, antiques and collectibles, farm-fresh goods, rummage sale items, bounce house inflatables, face painting and more. If interested in becoming a vendor, please come by Fair Park Senior Center to register a booth.

We are located at 1433 Livingston Rd., across from the fairgrounds. Rent a space and keep the profits. All booth rental fees help support the Fair Park Senior Center. Vendor registration deadline is July 31.
