Identity theft, a crime the FBI estimates claims more than 10 million victims a year, will be the topic of a free public seminar at Roane State Community College on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The seminar is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the theater on the Roane County campus.

Guests will include representatives from law enforcement and area financial institutions. They will discuss how to prevent identity theft, and the discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
