On Monday, April 20, at 1 p.m., Cumberland Medical Center’s Diabetes Support Group will meet in the conference room of the Crossville Wellness Complex. Diane Jones, RN, along with Bill Aldridge, Roache Pharmaceuticals, will present, “Healthy Options.” Many people who are newly diagnosed or who have had the disease for many years may be misguided by their friends and loved ones into believing that certain foods must be discontinued from their meal plans. CMC Diabetes Program coordinator Linda Hassler says, “We are happy to say there are no bad foods, only better choices.” The seminar is open and free to anyone in the community with diabetes and their family members.

Diabetes education is offered at two locations in Cumberland County, the Wellness Complex located at 130 Woodmere Mall in Crossville or the Wellness Complex at Fairfield Glade, located at 130 Stonehenge Drive.

If you would like to register to attend the April 20 seminar, to schedule an appointment for diabetes education at either location, or if you have questions regarding diabetes and the Diabetes Self-Management Program, please call 459-7164.
