The musical ministry of Bob and Becky Brunton is planned for 6 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at Grace Evangelical Fellowship, 4965 Peavine Road, Fairfield Glade.

The Bruntons have been involved in church music since they were both very young. Becky began singing at the age of two and a half when she performed "Silent Night" in a Christmas Eve service. She was involved in church and school music programs and played violin in the Beloit, WI Civic Symphony. Upon graduation from high school, she pursued degrees in music education at Taylor University, Upland, IN, and Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI. She taught public school music for the Eaton Rapids and Lansing, MI public schools, conducting choirs, special groups, and musical dramas. During her years at the Michigan School for the Blind in Lansing, she taught piano, voice, and conducted the school orchestra and chorus.

Bob started his musical career at the age of seven as a "boy soprano" singing for a chancel boys choir in Lansing, MI. He was involved in church and school choirs during high school and then went on to conduct several youth and adult choirs after college graduation. His choirs presented many Christmas, Easter and Fourth of July musicals and he once directed 4,000 women in singing "The Lord's Prayer."

Bob and Becky were married in 1963 after they met touring in the first group of "Spurrlows" sponsored by Youth For Christ International. After college they became involved in educational careers in the Lansing area. In 1979 they resigned their positions, Becky teaching at the Michigan School for the Blind and Bob as director of payroll for Michigan State University, to begin their full time music ministry. They make their home in Eaton Rapids, MI, and their concert tours have taken them to almost every state in the U.S. as well as several foreign countries.

They have recorded 14 albums and produced a live concert DVD. Their concerts are designed for the local church and will include familiar songs as well as some of their own compositions. A program is planned for all musical tastes featuring the use of live piano, synthesizer, violin, penny whistle, and taped accompaniment.
