The Upper Cumberland Arts Alliance is seeking artists to bring their artwork to be evaluated and possibly exhibited and sold at the UCAA retail gallery that is opening in the Cookeville mall, in Cookeville in late August/early September.

UCAA (formerly Upper Cumberland Regional Arts Council) is a nonprofit 501C3 organization whose mission is to encourage, promote, and facilitate the development, recognition, preservation, and presentation of arts in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee.

All artists must:

•Be a resident of one of the 14 designated counties (Cannon, Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Smith, Van Buren, Warren, and White)

•Be 18 years or older

•Agree to pay 30 percent commission to the UCAA gallery from each item sold.

•Submit 2 works of art to be juried for the gallery.

•Submit a one-page artist biography (half on artist, half on works)

All artwork must be:

•Hand-produced original

•Professional quality

•Exhibit ready

•Signed/ marked

•Suitable for public display

•Consistent with UCAA organization's mission

Artwork is to be brought to gallery in the Cookeville Mall on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1-2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., to be juried for the gallery. Any artist who has items that are not accepted by the jury will be notified and can pick them up Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15 and 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the same place.
