The seventh annual Southern States Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, at the Fairfield Glade Recreation Center. Festivities begin at 5 p.m.

All who attend can look forward to an enjoyable social hour, a catered dinner of boneless lemon-pepper chicken or barbecue pork, and lots of homemade desserts. Cost per person is $8. Reservations deadline is July 26, so mark your calendars now and complete and return the accompanying reservation form.

You qualify if you or your spouse are originally from one of the following:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia,

Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or West Virginia.

Entertainment will be provided by the Mountain Laurel Dulcimer Group, a talented group of local musicians who were the highlight of last year's dinner.

Attendees are reminded to bring any memorabilia from their states for decoration, such as flags or home state license plates.
