RHA members and guests will have an opportunity on Monday, July 25th to hear one of the finest voices to ever settle in Fairfield Glade. You won’t want to miss this chance to hear an excellent lyrical baritone perform your favorite songs. You will hear songs from as far back as the 40s and as near as the latest Broadway hits and ballads. Jim is a six-year resident and has performed in nearly every musical venue in Cumberland County including the Palace Theater and our own Legends Dining Theater. He has sung the national Anthem for the Dodgers at their spring training games and for the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. It is no surprise that Jim fills many requests, he has been blessed with a beautiful baritone voice you are not likely to forget.
Jim is a “late bloomer” as a performer. He was a retiree from the federal government before he began his new career in 1997 in Baltimore County, Maryland. Although he sang in a few operettas in high school, Jim did not sing publicly again until he was asked to sing at a wedding when he was 40 years of age. Twenty years later his distinctive rich and distinctive voice made him a star performer of the Senior Star Showcase at the Community College of Baltimore. Shows in New York, Las Vegas, and Disney World followed. Performing for one’s professional peers is probably the most difficult for anyone, and certainly this is true for a singer. In Las Vegas, Jim received a special accolade of a standing ovation when he performed for an audience of 300 professional singers. Jim has great empathy for the songs he sings, he sings from the heart just as he always has when singing for friends and family. Jim considers Fairfield Glade, “this piece of heaven place.” Plan to join us for dinner and songs that will sound appropriately…heavenly!
