On May 18, the Fairfield Glade Community Church received a life saving donation from the Mended Hearts Chapter 127 of Cookeville. During the Sunday worship service, Gene Pino, member and board president, accepted the gift of an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator). donated to the church by Mended Hearts.

Prior to receiving this gift, many members of the church attended an in-house CPR and AED training. This training was an important part of receiving the AED from Mended Hearts. The primary target groups to receive this gift is churches and schools.

Mended Hearts is a national and community-based non-profit organization working with hospitals throughout the country.

Chapter 127 is partnered with Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mended hearts volunteers provide support services to heart disease patients, their families

and caregivers.

According to Pharoah Smithers, president of Chapter 127 Mended Hearts, Fairfield Glade Community Church received the 110th AED donated by the chapter.
