On Nov. 14 Bill Carter, VP Fairfield Homes, Inc., presented to the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society a formal letter of commitment to donate land for a proposed senior living facility in Fairfield Glade. In presenting the letter, Carter was representing Wyndham, Inc., which now owns Fairfield Resorts.
The society representatives then did a walking tour of the 23 acres that are located in Fairfield North, west of Catoosa Blvd., near the new water tower. This generous donation of land is critical to moving closer to the reality of a senior living campus.
Later that same week more than 500 people attended the 10 focus group sessions conducted by the society. These sessions were designed to help the society define and verify what a senior living, continuous care retirement facility would be for this community. The task force for a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) thanks the many residents who participated in the focus groups. The society was very impressed with the interest and desire of our community to have a senior living facility developed here in Fairfield Glade.
If you received an invitation to the focus groups but were unable to attend, please complete the survey that was included in your invitation and return it in the postage-paid envelope to the society. Your prompt input is very important in helping the society determine exactly what our community wants and expects in a senior living community.
The society will have much data to review and analyze in the coming weeks. They hope to reach a decision within the next two months on whether or not to proceed. The CCRC task force will update the community as decisions are made.
Again, thanks to the community for your interest, support and participation.
Land will be available for senior living facility
