On April 4, 2012, the members of the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club become Queen for the Day as they view some of the latest and prettiest fashions for spring. Some of the first ladies to purchase tickets were Rosemary Gildemeister and Carole Markham.

Members of the club will sashay across the stage in practical, fun, glamorous and affordable fashions from Belk's Department Store in Cookeville. Huge decorated baskets will fill the lobby of the Conference Center as attendees peruse the beautifully presented theme gift baskets and decide which one they would most like to take home.

Tickets for this perennially sold out event are now available from the Co-Chairs, Shirley Spall (456-9399) and Sharon Gee (707-9986). Tables seat nine and you may reserve any or all nine places. Just make sure to check with your friends and make your reservations together. Tickets are $25 and guarantee you a delicious luncheon including beverages and dessert, the fun

of seeing your friends strut the runway, advance peeks of what will be 'in' for spring and summer, lots and lots of door prizes, goody bags and the knowledge that you are personally contributing to further the education of area students.

The event has become the signature luncheon of the year as well as a major fund raiser. Barb Storer and Cynthia Johnson, Co-Chairs of the Scholarship Committee, announced that the applications have been distributed to both high schools as well as vocational training entities. Not limited to traditional high school graduates, the funds raised may be used to help a single parent learn a trade, an adult who suddenly finds him or herself the family breadwinner, or someone going back to school after realizing the value of an education. Last year the FGLC distributed over $30,000 in Scholarships.
