In spite of warring factions, economic turmoil and uncertainty, this country is a great place to call home. We, as a people, care for and help one another whenever possible. I have personally found this to be true every day. Friday, Nov. 7, is no exception.

The bloodmobile will be parked near fellowship hall at the FG United Methodiest Church on Westchester Dr. The technicians will be set up and our terrific volunteers will await the arrival of the Glade's blood donors. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and refreshments will be available to start rebuilding your blood supply after making your donation.

This month is a time of thanksgiving for so many blessings each of us receive on a daily basis. Most of us are in good health and those who can't, for one reason or another, give blood, are often volunteering at the blood drives, at the area hospital, schools and facilities that help those who are less fortunate. Have you counted your blessings lately?

Please circle your calendar right now, before you forget. Then, call a couple of friends and ask them to join you while you wait the short time it takes at the blood drive. After making your donation, you can enjoy your activities with a happy heart, knowing you have given the best gift possible to those who desperately wait to receive the gift of life and/or health.

Have you counted your many blessings yet? Please do so and pass the word along — the blood drive is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the FG United Methodist Church on Westchester Dr. We'll be ready and watching for you. Have a joyous Thanksgiving.
