The Fairfield Glade Red Cross Volunteers invite all to the Donor Appreciation Blood Drive being held on Friday, July 8, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

“Our blood donors are the best. We want to honor them on this special day with a special thank you including a Certificate of Appreciation,” says Norma Streets, Blood Drive coordinator for Fairfield Glade. There will be custom T-shirts as a thank you gift sponsored by Crossville Chronicle, Glade Sun, Cumberland Ridge Assisted Living, Wyndridge Rehabilitation, Pioneer Real Estate and Wildwood Stables and Catering. Also, drawings will be held throughout the day for door prizes contributed by local businesses.

Although all blood types are needed, Type O Negative blood supply has dropped to a very low level creating a critical appeal. Type O Negative is the universal blood type; “it fits every body,” especially in emergency situations. Donors can make an appointment online at RedCrossBlood.org, just enter the zip code 38558 and follow the directions. Or you may call Jean Ann Mayberry, (931) 797-7674, for an appointment.  Walk-ins are very welcomed, appointments have priority.
