I-40 truck wreck.JPG

The driver of this tractor-trailer rig was able to walk away from this crash in the area of the 307/306 mile marker in the west lane of I-40 around 5 a.m. Sunday. A 2017 Kenworth left the right side of the interstate, striking a guardrail before overturning, dumping 20,000 pounds of cooking oil on the side of the road. The driver was taken to Cumberland Medical Center by ambulance to be checked out for what was considered at the scene to be minor injuries. Traffic Sunday was reduced to one lane around the crash site while crews cleaned up the cargo and debris.
