Lake Tansi FCE to meet on Feb. 15

Lake Tansi Family and Community Education Club is meeting on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 9:30 in the Hiawatha Community room. Kelli Moore, U.T. Extension agent, will bring the program. The new 2007 yearbooks will be passed out. All are welcome. For more information call Kay Ballew at 788-2705.



Conference planned about county's heritage

The second annual Alliance for the Cumberlands Conference will be held Monday, Feb. 26, from 8:30 to 4:15, at Cumberland Mountain State Park. Cost is $20 per person (which includes continental breakfast and lunch). Presentations will focus on the Cumberland Plateau's natural and cultural heritage. Seminar scheduled on local climate

Steve Norris will present a seminar on the climate of Cumberland County. The seminar will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Common Ground (405 W. 4th St.). Norris is a radio certified meteorologist. His voice has informed Cumberland Countians for many years about all kinds of weather coming across the Plateau.
