Knitting Guild to meet May 15

The Cumberland County Knitting Guild will meet from 1-3 p.m. on May 15 in the community room of the Art Circle Public Library. Bring your oldest knitted or crocheted item (made by you or another) and any completed work or items you are working on. Help is available for those wishing to learn more. CHA board meets

The Crossville Housing Authority board of directors will meet in regular session at noon on May 15 in the CHA office. The public is invited.

American Legion to meet May 13

Trash, treasure sale set

The annual trash and treasure sale sponsored by the May Cravath Wharton Association of the Uplands Retirement Village will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 13 in the Blue Barn off Lake Street in Pleasant Hill. Furniture can be found at the Pleasant Hill Community House.

Program scheduled

Sherry Wang of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation will present an Obed Watershed Community Association program on water standards within that watershed and discuss the new standard for total maximum daily loads at 3 p.m. on May 11 at the Common Ground. Homemakers to meet

The FCE Mountain Homemakers will meet on May 10 at the Country Store. Please come at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and bring a nonperishable food item for donation.

Farmer's Market open

The Cumberland County Farmer's Market is now open from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Walk for animals

Humane Society of Cumberland County will have its Walk for the Animals on May 13 in Fairfield Glade. Registration is at 10 a.m., and the walk begins at 10:30 p.m. There will be complementary refreshments. For more information, call Robert Fleer, shelter manager, at 484-9700.

Residents to meet

All residents of the Crossville Housing Authority are invited to a resident meeting at 9 a.m. on May 16 at the CHA community meeting room on Irwin Avenue. The agenda includes a briefing on CHA programs.

The CMC Cardiac Support Group will meet at 10:30 a.m. on May 11 at the Wellness Complex in Fairfield Glade. Al and Virginia Borsos will present information on the Medicare health support program.
