Fire sweeps through home

Cumberland County firefighters were called to the Hogue residence on Caryonah Rd. Tuesday afternoon when fire swept the residence. Advance of the flames was aided by a strong spring wind. The fire, which appeared to have started in the area of the garage, destroyed the home and its contents. No one was home at the time the fire was discovered and no one was injured in the incident. The Hogues are staying with family members. The local chapter of the American Red Cross and Crossville-Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency also responded to the fire.
