Magic coming to Crossville
At 7 p.m. on April 4, an evening of magic and illusion is coming to Crossville! Stone Memorial High School will be the site for Abracadabra! It’s Magic! — an evening of spellbinding and hilarious entertainment for the entire family. For one night only, six of the world’s greatest magicians, illusionists and comedians will astound and amaze you. They are Tom Vorjohan, Stephen Bargatze, Jason Michaels, Robert Jones, Tom A. Gibson and Jason Murphy.
Cumberland Jamboree turns seven
The longest running musical show on the mountain kicked off its 2014 season March 1 at the Palace Theatre in downtown Crossville. This year the Cumberland Jamboree will return to its roots. In celebration of seven years of successful shows, all seats, except the first eight rows, will be free to the public once again.
Dinner and a show supports St. Jude
A dinner, show and country dance benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Fair Park Senior Center will be held at the center Saturday evening, March 22. Dinner will be at 4 p.m. The show will start at 5 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m.
Discover ‘The Cloud Kingdom’ at Travelogue
The Fairfield Glade Lions final season Travelogue will come to a close on April 7 at the Palace Theatre. The adventure will start at 7 p.m. for a trip to Bhutan, a tiny Buddhist kingdom located on the eastern shoulders of the Himalayas.
Film Society announces spring movie season
The Cumberland County Film Society has picked another great group of movies for your enjoyment and enlightenment. They will start and end with comedies that are so different in tone and mood that even that is entertaining in itself. In the middle, two dramas, one in late March that will transport us to the beautiful sunny south of France. One to England, so of course, some rain. And smack dab in the middle a very inventive, cleverly edited American documentary on what makes people happy, all over the world, from the very rich to the very poor. Join the CCFS for more "movies worth talking about."
