Curtain Call Player give tribute to the best of country legends

CROSSVILLE — Do you remember the lyrics from the Judds' song "Grandpa, Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days." They go something like this, "Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days. Sometimes it feels like this world's gone crazy. Grandpa, take me back to yesterday when the line between right and wrong didn't seem so hazy."

The Curtain Call Players would like to take you back to the good ole days with music of some of the "Best of Country Legends." Like the song goes we'd like to "wander back into the past and paint a picture of long ago." Now we know there were hard times back in those days but we didn't have the turmoil of the today's world or maybe we just didn't hear about it as much.

The lyrics from another song by Tim McGraw called "Back When" are "We got too complicated; It's all way over-rated. I like the old and out-dated way of life." Country should bring visions of rockin' chairs on the front porch, people actually talking to each other without an iPad, tablet or cell phone, front porch pickin' and everyone singin', ice cream socials, grannies' quilts, old red barns, families sitting down at supper time saying grace, the smell of chicken frying in the pan and biscuits in the oven, children running barefoot across the lawn chasing fireflies.

Come and see some "front porch pickin'" and very good singing along with a great meal. There will be music of Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and other legends of country and some good ole country humor. Some performers of the alternating cast will be Dennis Donald, Terri Utsey, Ashley Krohn, Cheyenne Graff, Rich Petersen, Viviana Pabi, Wayne and Ruth Lucas. Y'all come, they'll make you feel right at home!

This show will run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from March 6 through March 22 at the Curtain Call Dinner Theatre located in the VF-Crossville Outlet Mall, parking lot A entrance off Interstate Drive, first suite on the left. The cost of $28 includes taxes, the show, your meal from salad to dessert, all the coffee, tea or lemonade you can drink and free popcorn during the show.
