The Garden season opens April 27

CROSSVILLE — Spring is back and so is the annual reopening of The Garden at the west end of Main Street in Pleasant Hill, TN. What is The Garden? The Garden is a place where you can relax and be blessed again this year on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from late April to early October. The Garden offers a variety of gospel music groups, delicious home-cooked food, serene surroundings and fellowship inside a comfortable pavilion, come rain or shine. The parking lot and bathrooms are close and easily accessible.

The Garden is located on the property where Ray and Monica Henson live and is operated by them (but, it belongs to God). He has provided for all the needs of The Garden since giving Ray the vision for it back in 2002. They opened with very humble beginnings the second Saturday in April 2005, and The Lord has blessed it and allowed them to improve it each year since then.

Again this year, they are operating in faith. There is no admission fee or charge for the music, the meal, water, coffee and soft drinks which are offered at each singing; there is just a donation box where folks can prayerfully help defray the costs involved. Local ladies do bring desserts to share.

The music starts at 4 p.m. with one gospel group; then from 5-6 p.m. there's a break for a complete home-cooked meal, a taste tempting variety of desserts, and, of course, fellowship. At 6 p.m. the second group takes the stage and blesses us for another hour. The altar is always open, and prayer requests are welcome.

This is family pleasure at its best and large groups (church, youth, senior, ladies, etc.) are welcome (calling ahead is appreciated, so enough food can be prepared and enough chairs set up). It is well worth the trip to Pleasant Hill.

Take 70 West (Sparta Highway) to Pleasant Hill, turn right onto Main Street and head west through town. When you get to the Church of Christ building on the right, turn right (that's Gennetta Lane) and follow it to the end...and The Garden parking lot. There are signs along the way, but if you have any questions, call Monica at 277-5198.
