K-Town takes Palace stage Aug. 3

CROSSVILLE — PAART is proud to present an evening of great Americana music performed by artists based in “K-Town,” Knoxville Tennessee. The evening of music, with its roots deep in East Tennessee, will be hosted by regional favorite Jay Clark. Jay will be bringing the three lovely ladies that make up the Naughty Knots, Griffin Cavender on guitar, dobro, and vocals; Milly Cavender on upright bass and vocals; and Sarah Pirkle on fiddle, guitar and vocals. Sarah’s husband and talented musician, Jeff Barbra, will join her on the guitar and mandolin for several of their much loved tunes.

RB Morris, poet, playwright, actor, singer, songwriter, and Knoxville music icon rounds out the lineup.

This K-Town Americana event is PAART’s First Friday performance scheduled for August 3 at 7 p.m. central at the Palace Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets for PAART events are currently available at two locations, the Palace Theatre (484-6133) and from the box office of the Cumberland County Playhouse (484-5000, a ticketing service charge may apply).

PAART (Performing Arts Alliance of Rural Tennessee) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to bringing talented performing artists to our community.

  • City Lites.jpg 'Friday Night Air' features City Lites

    The “Friday Night Air” summer concert series continues Friday at the Spirit Broadband amphitheater in downtown Crossville with the City Lites Band. They are a very popular four-piece band from Crossville that has performed throughout Tennessee and the Southeast for more than three decades. Their lineup features Marty Gibson on guitar and vocals, Flavy Miller on bass and vocals, Glenn Holverson on saxophones and Wade England on drums. The song list includes a wide variety of musical styles from swing, country, '50’s and '60’s, rock and more. Something for everyone to enjoy! The performance is free to the public and begins at 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the Historic Palace Theatre and the city of Crossville.

    The Performing Arts Alliance of Rural Tennessee (PAART) is pleased to announce the first event in it’s 2014-15 season: the Lexington Vintage Dance Society will perform "Downton Abbey Era: The Titanic to the Jazz Age" in period costumes. This performance will take place Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Palace Theatre in Crossville.
