Community Band to debut new music March 20

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Community Band will present its annual spring concert March 20 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Stone Memorial High School in Crossville. Admission is free.

The evening will also include a special event, the first recipient of the Patricia and Emery Nagy Scholarship will be announced and awarded at the concert. The Nagy family will be present during the awarding ceremony.

Some of the music played in tonight's concert have been made famous by George and Ira Gershwin, Marvin Hamlisch, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Leonard Cohen and of course John Philip Sousa.

March 20 will also mark the CCCB debut performance of a new march added to its collection: "Valley Forge March" originally scored by Karl King and arranged by James Swearingen.

Organizers are sure this will be an especially enjoyable evening for everyone. Don't miss it!
