Southern Stars to Present Free Christmas Concerts on Nov. 17

The Southern Stars Symphonic Brass, a 30-piece professional instrumental brass ensemble, is celebrating their 5th anniversary season of providing their brand of "Premium Entertainment" concerts which are normally paid admission concerts. Concert goers have given rave reviews of the outstanding quality of the musicians and the music selections they present. As a way to thank their audience and business sponsors for their support during this period of time, the Southern Stars musicians will present two FREE concerts as a gift to the community. The concerts are on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Fairfield Glade Community Church which is located at 521 Snead Rd. in Fairfield Glade, TN. The concert is themed as Brassy Christmas, and will feature music of the holidays and Christmas season. Sponsors for this concert are Bed & Biscuit Kennel, Cumberland Medical Center, and Flynn Sign Co., Inc.

Artistic director and founder of the SSSB, Dwight Wages, and Music Director Dr. Steven Sudduth have selected music which will cover favorites from the holiday season. The concert will be one hour in length and will send you home filled with the enjoyment of great music by this professional ensemble which is recognized as one of the best of this type in North America.

While the concert is free to the public, the Southern Stars expect that the audience for the concert will exceed the 450 seat capacity of the church. Therefore, the musicians have agreed to provide two concerts (same music selections at each concert) in order to allow as many people as possible to attend and hear this stellar brass band. One concert will be be at 4:30 p.m. and the second will be at 7 p.m.

Because of the expected audience, a ticket voucher will need to be obtained in order to guarantee a seat at the concert and too maximize seating utilization. These ticket vouchers can only be obtained by the general public at the following locations: Cumberland Eye Care (Dr. Stuart Galloway offices) on Peavine Road in Fairfield Glade, and at the Palace Theatre on Main Street in Crossville. Tickets will be available to pick up beginning on October 22. To ensure that the seating is maximized and available to as many as would like to hear the Southern Stars, the following procedure will be in place: (1) only four tickets vouchers can be picked up by a single person, (2) only take tickets for a single concert, so make a decision on which you want to attend, (3) If you take tickets, please use them. If you later find you cannot use them, contact Dwight Wages at 484-6939 to inform him so the seats can be released to others who want to attend, and (4) You need to be in your seats 10 minutes prior to the concert. At that time, they will allow people without vouchers to take any open seats.

Here is your opportunity to find out why the Southern Stars have been exclaimed by their audiences "as the best entertainment they have seen/heard in Tennessee!" and, "We are so proud to have quality entertainment of this type right at our doorstep, which even much larger metropolitan areas can not match." If you have not experienced the Southern Stars, this is a great opportunity to explore why they have been so highly rated by their audiences. So circle this date on the calendar, and pick up ticket vouchers beginning on Oct. 22. For further detail, contact Dwight Wages at 484-6939.
