CCCB presents ‘Movies, Musicals and Marches’

Submitted

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Community Band proudly presents their annual “Movies, Musicals and Marches” Concert Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Stone Memorial High School. The concert is one of the favorites for conductor, Brian Bacon, to plan. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

The audience can expect to hear music from some of the most award-winning movie scores and songs, plus well-known musicals. Since the band has recently been able to acquire their new set of timpani, the concert opener is non-other than “Fanfare For The Common Man,” which will feature the new timpani. Movie scores and selections will include Skyfall, Titanic, Disney’s Brave and Captain America. The Broadway shows that you can expect to hear selections from will include Mamma Mia and the beloved classic Carousel. No concert is complete without a few Marches and the band will make their debut performance of Sousa’s Transit of Venus March.

This is a must-see concert and, best of all, it is free and open to the public. Please contact Cumberland County Community Band President Harry Price, at 287-0234 for more information.
