Free movie at the Rocky Top 10 Tuesday

CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Film Society and the Rocky Top 10 theater are co-sponsoring another free movie on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is an “inspirational comedy” with something for everyone: humor, wonderful characters, political intrigue, troubled relationships, loves lost and found. The cast includes several British actors you will recognize, including Emily Blunt as the representative of the Yemeni sheik and Kristin Scott Thomas as the high powered and occasionally foul mouthed spin doctor for the British Prime Minister. Ewan McGregor plays a scientist bored with both his work and his marriage. As the plot of the unlikely multi-million dollar scheme to create a fresh water salmon river in the Yemeni desert unravels, you’ll love the beautiful cinematography, quirky characters and clever script. The machinations of behind the scenes government in action are both funny and cogent. Rated PG-13 for some profanity and non-graphic sexual situations. 107 minutes.

CCFS has three additional movies remaining in the fall schedule, including two more free selections co-sponsored with the Rocky Top. If you prefer seeing movies in the afternoon at the RT10, email the Film Society at ccfsmail11@gmail.com for information about joining. The CCFS motto is "movies worth talking about" and discussions after the films are a members-only benefit of membership. You can join at the RT10 right before any of the CCFS movies.
