Wharton Association to host silent auction Sept. 25-27

Volunteer Peggy Ruchotzke takes her cue from the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea," abetted by her "prince," Lyle Weible, in testing mattresses along with other items for the Wharton Association Silent Auction, coming on Sept. 25-27 at the Blue Barn in Pleasant Hill. In addition to furniture, the auction will feature quality appliances, jewelry, linens, silver and china, antiques and unusual foreign artifacts. Among various other furniture pieces offered for bids will be a fine spinet piano, a beautiful high-boy chest of drawers and several recliners and couches.

The sale will take place on Sept. 25 from 4-8 p.m., Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Blue Barn, located on Lake Road off of Main Street in Pleasant Hill. The sale, sponsored by the May Cravath Wharton Association, benefits local area residents, higher education students from the area and residents of Uplands Retirement Village including the Wharton Nursing Home. Wharton Nursing Home is in the final planning stages for a brand new facility to be developed in the Eden Alternative Plan formula.
