Take mom to the theatre and dinner for Mother's Day

Tennessee Valley Theatre in Spring City will host a Mother’s Day dinner and harp concert on Saturday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $19 per person. For reservations, please call (423) 365-PLAY.
Laura Elder and Tiffany Envid will perform the harp concert. Elder has won recognition for her talent both as a performer and as a teacher, performing with the Indianapolis Symphony, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic, the Chattanooga Symphony and the Huntsville Symphony. Elder also shares her talents in a therapeutic setting as harpist at Memorial Hospital.
Elder received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Music degree in Harp Performance from Ball State University. A special interest in Celtic music, history, and folklore led her to earn a Master of Arts in Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto and to study in Ireland at University College Galway. She has served on the faculty of the renowned Interlochen Arts Camp and is currently on the faculty of Lee University, Bryan College, Southern Adventist University, and Covenant College. She maintains a home studio of more than twenty students and enjoys teaching people of all ages. She also teaches each summer at the Jan Pennington Gray Harp Camp in Chattanooga and is the director of the Chattanooga Harp Ensemble.
Tiffany Envid graduated from Lee University in Cleveland and as a full-time professional harpist, plays for weddings, dinner parties, church functions, and other special events. She has performed with many area choirs and concert performances.
Envid has taught the Salzedo method of harp for the past six years with student ages ranging from five to 75. She is a founding member of the Chattanooga Harp Ensemble, the harp instructor at Westmore Music Academy, and a member of the American Harp Society.
Pat Banks will cater the dinner featuring Mediterranean chicken and strawberry shortcake.
